General provisions
The vaccine against Newcastle disease is an inactivated emulsion. The vaccine is made from the extraembryonic fluid of chicken embryos infected with the Newcastle disease virus (La Sota strain), inactivated with formaldehyde, with the addition of the oil adjuvant ISA70, manufactured by SEPPIC, in a ratio of 30:70. In appearance, the vaccine is an emulsion from white to white-pink in color. When storing the vaccine, it is allowed to precipitate a dense white fraction with an emulsion clearing in the upper part of the vial, without separating the aqueous phase. The uniformity of the emulsion is restored by careful shaking. The vaccine is packaged in 10 cm3 (20 doses for chickens, 40 doses for chickens), 20 cm3 (40 doses for chickens, 80 doses for chickens), 100 cm3 (200 doses for chickens, 400 doses for chickens), 500 cm3 (1000 doses for chickens, 2000 doses for chickens) glass vials or polymer vials of appropriate capacity, hermetically sealed with rubber stoppers reinforced with aluminum caps. Storage for 18 months from the date of manufacture, subject to temperature conditions, freezing is not allowed.
Biological properties
The vaccine causes the formation of an immune response in broilers to the causative agent of Newcastle disease, 14-21 days after a single application, lasting at least 6 weeks. When used twice with an interval of 21-28 days, the duration of immunity is at least 9 months. The vaccine is harmless and has no medicinal properties.
The order of application
The vaccine is intended for the prevention of Newcastle disease in poultry farms of various types of cultivation, as well as for compulsory vaccination in disadvantaged and threatened farms in order to stop infections at least one month before the start of egg laying. In chickens, the vaccine is injected subcutaneously into the middle third of the neck or intramuscularly into the area of the pectoralis major muscle. The volume of the vaccine dose is 0.25 cm3 of vaccine for chickens 1-10 days. Adult poultry, starting from day 11, should be vaccinated subcutaneously in the middle third of the neck or intramuscularly in the area of the pectoralis major muscle with revaccination, based on the epizootic situation, in a volume of 0.5 cm3. Before use, the vaccine is kept for 6-9 hours at a temperature of 20 ° C to 25 ° C.
Vaccination evaluation criteria
21 days after a single vaccination, the immune system is monitored by examining at least 25 blood serum samples from each poultry house in RTGA. Vaccination is considered successful if at least 80% of vaccinated birds have an antibody titer to the Newcastle disease virus of at least 4log2 (1:16).
